Addressing the Glitch Bridge issue for the nth time inspite of clear communications from the team followed by the Glitch CTO. The bridge was shut upon realising the exploit and our internal team was immediately put on a task to identify the attack vector, fix it, investigate the issue and make the necessary measures to make it much more secure than ever before. The bridge has been fixed. We're stress-testing internally to ensure the security before we re-release. In addition to that, we have also built a tool to get to the total extent of the issue since there are many transactions involved which is why we need an algorithmic approach. After we have conclusive finidngs of the exploit, we will release a follow up statement accordingly. I have heard some absolutely ridiculous suspicions taking rounds that the bridge exploit was orchestrated internally by the team for expenses. These clout chasers will say anything to try and stay relevant. Couldn't these individuals get any more educated than this and at least think why would the team itself destroy it's own total supply to for expenses? If funds are ever needed for project needs we have token allocations specifially just to do that. Why the fuck would we exploit our own bridge, ruin the total supply, all of which will cost much more to fix. Official bridge statement will be made in due course with the correlating evidence that we have found related to the breach.

Notification of new policy changes and a path forward. Misinformation & Abuse: Glitch Finance is implementing a new zero-tolerance policy against negativity, misinformation, and online abuse. Starting today, individuals engaging in these activities will no longer be welcome to communicate within the Glitch Protocol community channels and will be permanently removed without warning. The team has recently received threats across multiple platforms – death threats, extortion attempts, and verbal abuse. These threats are being sent to team members and their families at home. Please do not continue making these sorts of threats – it is not okay and harmful to their wellbeing. All Glitch Finance team members are just trying to do their daily jobs. We ask you to please exercise a little respect for each team member and their families at all times. Additionally, it seems there is a personal vendetta around specific individuals, especially myself, CEO Sean Ryan. Glitch is more significant than any individual. To reiterate, any above abusive behavior will result in the person’s removal from community channels. Lastly, to protect the best interest of each person employed at Glitch Finance, the team will be moving away from direct messaging. Any and all conversations with the team can be had in the proper public community channels or by using the Contact Us form on the website. Community Advocates: Around November and December of 2021, Glitch Finance started introducing advocates to form a volunteer group to spread the word of Glitch to external communities. The team wants to share that five of these individuals remain for transparency purposes. About half of the program entrants left for personal reasons, and the other half were terminated for not participating in the program for “X” time. Glitch implemented stricter processes and expectations in 2022, which only a select few have decided to follow. We wish them all the best in their next adventures. However, several advocates have left the program and are now trying to share information with others, which is in direct breach of their signed non-disclosure/confidentiality agreement. If you know you are one of these individuals, we ask you to please stop. And if you’re interested in joining the program, the team will be expanding it, and we will accept new applications soon. There will be a maximum capacity of 12 people in the short term, so we invite you to apply today. The Path Forward: There is a bright light shining at the end of the tunnel. Right now, the team’s primary focus is to deliver the mainnet validators and then work to deliver the mainnet in its entirety. Once the basics of the mainnet are live, Glitch Finance may decide to handle the defamation situation through legal action. Rest assured that the team will meet all deliverables, and those spreading negativity will soon come to understand their actions are fallacious. New team members are currently going through the onboarding process, including a Scrum Master and Copywriter. It is not a positive experience for them to see the constant misinformed negativity daily. The decisions mentioned in this statement have been made to future-proof Glitch and the internal employees working tirelessly to complete the goals. Glitch Finance has been operating for about two years, building the team, brand, and technologies. The team would like to clarify one thing: Glitch is here to stay and deliver. Team members are doxxed for a reason, with an end goal to build one of the best alternative blockchain infrastructures for DeFi money market applications. We, as a team, shall not give up. The only option is success. As an organization, the team is ready to release an expansion to the GLITCH mainnet, starting with its validators and up to five external ones. The team will share the signup Google Form shortly, and we urge anyone interested to participate on a first-come, first serve basis. While this is ongoing, investigations around the bridge will continue and a series of updates will be shared accordingly.

Hello Glitchers, It came to our attention that there was an exploit within the Glitch bridge contract wallets. All bridging services have been temporarily halted. Here’s an update: On August 21, 2022, the development team was notified about and then identified an exploit around the Glitch bridge. During the internal investigations, we found that an attacker(s) was trying to log into the glitch ssh protocol via brute force attack. In short, two hot wallets linked to the Glitch bridge were compromised and minted ~1.5M $GLCH tokens. We are carefully engaging our legal team to take the appropriate steps to handle this situation. We are continuing our investigations around the root cause and working on implementing a solution.
